The pandemic has altered our lives altogether for the past two years. Lockdown prevented us from going out for movies, playing fun games, shopping, gym, dining out, and many other activities. However, the advent of online food delivery brands made it possible to order food from our favorite restaurants from the comfort of our homes. Paprika, the cloud kitchen company in Wakad, provides facilities and services to prepare food items for delivery and takeout while maintaining all covid safe preventive measures.   

1. Preventive measures when taking orders : We receive an order for a home delivery over the phone, from our website, or the delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy. Quantity, price, and all relevant allergen information are mentioned in our menu. We provide the allergen information to customers over the phone or in writing through our printed menu. Allergen information helps customers to decide on the menu before placing an order. Our staff is trained and aware of taking orders with specific allergy requirements over the phone or online. They have clear written allergen information to respond to allergy requests when taking orders accurately. 

2. Preventive measures we take for food delivery : We follow 4C for good hygiene, including cleaning, cooking, chilling, and cross-contamination. Food is stored safely in sealed containers at correct temperatures. To avoid cross-contamination and stop objects from falling into it, proper temperature is required. Here food is chilled correctly, and the fridge is at the right temperature to prevent it from getting spoiled. We periodically update hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point procedures and practice a practical and straightforward guide to manage hygiene and allergens in the kitchen, including advice on what to consider when delivering food. 

3. Measures we take while delivering food orders : We ensure the right refrigeration of the food to keep it cool while transporting it. Food is packed in insulated containers with coolant gel or a cool bag. The food needed to be kept hot is packed with an insulated bag. Each meal is packed securely, and allergen-free meals are packed separately to avoid contamination through spillages. Allergen-free meals are mentioned on the sticker or note while delivering the order. 

4. Allergen guidance for food delivery : We have chosen the 14 most common and dangerous allergens and provided the necessary information. It includes celery, cereals containing gluten, eggs, fish, prawns, crabs, and lobsters.

5. Our delivery vehicles follow safety guidelines: If the vehicle transports anything other than food, then after every load’s cleaning is done to avoid the risk of contamination. We update Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point for transporting food. We follow the local authority’s advice about the suitability of the vehicle.  

Conclusion: Our food safety features four steps to ensure good quality food. It includes washing, rinsing, and sanitizing contact surfaces, frequent disinfection of surfaces, preparing and using sanitizers according to level instructions, and verifying ware-washing procedures.
